Sunday Updates

Okay so Steph sold P90X, lol, to help pay for our (99.9999%) sure move to Alabama! Wait, I probably haven't mentioned that yet... okay.

Ryan has an interview with SAIC, Inc. in Huntsville, Ala. this Thursday April 1 at 9:00AM. This is a big deal, the company has paid for our whole trip to fly out there March 31-April 2. They booked our airfare & rental car and are reimbursing me for the hotel room! WoW -- I tell you, in the aerospace/avionics world that Ryan is involved with we have never heard of this happening. Most the companies will straight up ask "When can you start?" and "No, there is no relocation package included". Instead, SAIC has already told us they pay up to $12,000 in relocation costs and provide the moving truck and movers! Woo Hoo.

We don't know what the salary is - yet. We've heard rumors that it pays very nicely, but the people we heard it from are talking about what the salary was BEFORE the economic crash. Either way, the job requires NO overtime and is SALARIED, so therefore if Ryan can still make the same amount he makes up here WITH overtime, we'll be sitting pretty. It will be nice to see Ryan come home at a decent hour and NOT disgustingly covered in grease and oil! It was exciting to shop at Kohl's for dress khaki's, button up shirts and ties! I'm pretty sure Ryan secretly loved it too! He looked very sharp ...the last time I saw him in a tie was our wedding day. =]

So anyways, this job will help our future out as well. The job position will last a minimum of seven years, which is great to hear because in most government positions the field will change year to year and you never know where your future will go. The only sad part will be moving 2500 miles from family to a city where the only people we'll know are his employers. Slowly I hope to get to know people, I am shy at first but I'll be in that forced position to open up and get to know others. Since we're going to live in an apartment complex for the first year or two, that will be a great way for me to get to know others. We put a deposit down on one complex but it was sight unseen. When we show up we may decide it's too small or not for us, then we'll only be short $100 but it's better than committing and being screwed!
